The wolf, what a magnificent creature.  I have always had a passion for the wolf and dreamed of one day being able to photograph one in the wild.  That dream came true at the Northern Lights Wolf Centre, in Golden, B.C., Canada.  I got to walk in the woods with two wolves.  They were not completely wild, but they were also not tame.  Dave was a 2-year-olf white Canadian male wolf.  He was very photogenic but retained a mystique that said “I am Wolf”.  He stood on an embankment and as I stood near him, he leaned over so that I could touch him.  I talked to him and he licked my hand.  I looked into his eyes and saw the soul of nature.
The matriarch of the pack was named Maya.  She mothered the other wolves and was loved in return by them and everyone who saw her.  She lived to be 17 years old, but dies August 1, 2016.

REST IN PEACE MAYA AND HOWL WITH YOUR NEW PACK FOREVER IN YOUR HAPPY HUNTING GROUND.
