Just to look at a flower, it seems like taking a photograph would be easy.  Give me an alligator any day of the week rather than a hibiscus.

First, it is difficult to find the perfect flower.  Bugs like them as much as we do and some flowers don’t last but one day.

Second, the weather affects the blossoms along with the time of day.  The wind can also cause the perfect shot to become a blur of color.

Lastly, there are so many beautiful flowers that it is hard to make a decision.

These photographs were taken at a variety of places including:  Florida, North Georgia, Colorado, Alaska, St. John’s Vi., and Canada.  I have had a difficult time identifying the blue flower and would appreciate any help.  The photograph was taken in Anchorage, Alaska.

I’m not sure when this was published and thus if you’ve long known the answer. However, in the case, that you are still wondering I would guess that your blue flower is a Himalayan Blue Poppy(also called Tibetan Blue Poppy or ) which apparently grows pretty well in Alaska. They seem to be common in photographs that I’ve seen, especially in Anchorage, so that aligns well with where you said your photograph was taken.

Thank you so much for your information. I live in Florida and have never seen such a truly blue flower. I even called the botanical garden in Anchorage and they couldn’t identify it either. I really appreciate your help.
